"The transfer of golf in DUBAi's assets to ICD's portfolios of holdings will, in no way, affect our management structure nor any employee or our agreements with third parties," Buamaim clarified after concluding the transfer of assets deal.
ICD manages a portfolio of assets, which includes Emirates Airline, Dubai Aluminium and Emirates NBD among other leading enterprises in the Emirate of Dubai.
"We welcome the introduction of golf in DUBAi to the ICD portfolio of companies. golf in DUBAi has played an important role in promoting Dubai as a leisure, sporting and tourist destination and we look forward to supporting the company in its initiatives by including it in our drive to improve standards of governance and to take advantage of the inherent synergies that exist in the portfolio of investments owned by the Government of Dubai," said HE Mohammed Al Shaibani, Executive Director and CEO of ICD.
'golf in DUBAi' was created in 2005 to promote Dubai as one of the world's leading golfing destinations and to underline Dubai's other international attractions to a worldwide audience.
Today, Dubai is referred to as an ideal golfing destination and a great deal of the city's popularity is down to the success of the Dubai Desert Classic and the Dubai Ladies Masters.
The global profiles of the two events, now an established fixture on the UAE's sporting calendar, received a major boost with Omega, the leading Swiss watchmaker, coming on board as the title sponsors - a partnership which is expected to grow beyond the present five-year agreement.
'golf in DUBAi' is focused on building mutually beneficial partnerships with their valued sponsors, patrons and industry stakeholders, both in Dubai and the region as a whole.
